Why do glow sticks glow brighter in warm water?
By glow sticks, I mean the ones that people commonly use camping. You break them, and light is created through Chemiluminescence.
As you mentioned, glow sticks work because of a chemical reaction. Like most reactions, this particular reaction runs more quickly at high temperatures. When you stick a glow stick in warm water, the heat from the water causes the molecules inside the stick to move around faster, which means they react faster and the stick glows more brightly. Of course the down side to this is that the stick will also wear down faster.
