Carrying a pistol while hiking?
I do a lot of hiking and fishing in big grizzly and mountian lion areas and was just wondering what you all need to carry a pistol with you. Do you need a special permit beside just a firearm safety cert. Thanks.
Rules vary by state. Some states allow for open carry, meaning you can carry an un-concealed handgun. Some states don’t even require a permit for carrying, but others require safety classes and permits for open or concealed carry. Also check what federal laws may apply to the area you are going to be in.
