Can I stick a survival gun in my backpack camping in the national forest?

National forests are run by the Department of Agriculture, Firearms have always been allowed in the as long as you stayed within State law….
I have open carried a loaded firearm in National forests for years, Have interacted with several rangers and never had a problem….
National PARKS are run by the departmnet of the interior, They were no firearms up until reciently , The Department of the interior just announced a rule change allowing the carrying of firearms in national PARKS , again so long as you obeys state laws pertaining to Carrying a firearm……
NOW… Carrying an unloaded, encased gun in a backpack is NOT considered carrying a firearm in almost all states and you would have no problem,
