When pointing a bright torch at a cloudy night sky, does the light actually reflect off the clouds?
Or is it simply a trick of the eye; is it just an appearance? Having used the torch just then while having all my house lights turned off, was simply wondering this. I know it appears that the light hits the clouds, but are the clouds really close enough to see such a vivid reflection from a torch?
The light is reflected off the moisture in the air. Not just clouds but moisture.
